Assembly & Finishing Touches
Now that you’ve crocheted all the individual parts, it’s time to bring your little horse to life! Use your sewing pins to position the parts before stitching to ensure everything is perfectly aligned.
- Sew the Ears: Attach the ears on rounds 12–13 of the head. Leave a space of about 5 single crochet stitches between the two ears.
- Add the Eyes & Muzzle details: Glue the 3 mm safety eyes between rounds 7 and 8 of the head, leaving about 6 stitches of separation between them. Using a thin black embroidery thread, stitch a cute little smile and two small diagonal lines for the nostrils.
- Sew the Head to the Body: Securely stitch the head onto the top of the body. Make sure it’s facing directly forward and aligned with the muzzle blaze!
- Attach the Arms: Pin and attach the arms (either with a secure sew or using thread jointing for movable limbs) 1 row below the neck seam.
- Attach the Legs: Attach the legs on the sides of the lower body, between rounds 4 and 5.
- The Mane & Tail: Cut several lengths of your white or cream yarn.
- To attach the mane: Use your crochet hook to loop the strands of yarn through the stitches on round 12 (right between the ears) down through rounds 13 and 14.
- To attach the tail: Attach strands of yarn at rounds 4 and 5 at the back of the body.
- Styling Tip: Gently brush out/comb the yarn strands of the mane and tail to split the fibers. This creates a beautifully fluffy, high-volume look! Trim the edges with sharp scissors for a neat finish.
